Here are a series of tutorials grouped into 'modules'. Each modules consists of a set of lessons. Each lesson should take approximately 1 hour, and includes some lecture material, exercises and a quiz.
SELES 100 level modules: introduction and basics
SELES 101: The Basics
In this tutorial you will learn how to run models in SELES.
Lesson 1. SELES Overview and Landscape Modelling
Tutorial 1.1 Andrew's Welcome
Tutorial 1.2 What SELES can and cannot do
Tutorial 1.3 Where does SELES fit compared with other modelling tools?
Lesson 2. The Model Simulator Interface
Tutorial 2.2 Running Value Models (html)
Tutorial 2.2 Running Value Models (get Flash plugin)
Lesson 3. Under the Hood: SELES Model Structure
Lesson 4. SELES LS Editor
Lesson 5. Loading and Exploring Data 1
Lesson 6. Markov Chain Models
Lesson 7. Simple Spreading Models
SELES 102: Model Exploration
In this module you will learn run and modily a simple model in SELES.
Lesson 1. Overview of a Simple Patch Model
Lesson 2. Data exploration and running the Simple Patch Model
Lesson 3. Under the hood: what's inside the Simple Patch Model
Lesson 4. Patch Model Output: Landscape Metrics
Lesson 5. Patch Model Output: Animation
SELES 200 level modules: intermediate modelling techniques
These modules are still in the planning stages.
SELES 300 level modules: advanced modelling techniques and applications
These modules are still in the planning stages. Maybe after this fall's SELES course we'll have a better idea what should go here.
